ME
I've always thought it would be fun to do this so here goes! This was "A day in the life of ME" from yesterday:
Morning:
Worked from home before heading out to Clovernook Country Club to hang with the kids who are participating in our Youth Discovery Summer Program. Yestersday was week two of "survivor camp" which is basically just a recreational camp for kids who are blind or visually impaired. Here are a few of the kids learning to golf:
Seriously good stuff...seriously. The kids had a blast, the golf pro's learned a thing or two about people who are blind or visually impaired, the club manager said "his life had been changed"...good times all around!
Lunch:
The kids and volunteers headed in to the country club for lunch. The manager booked lunch for them in his best dining room and brought in three young professionals who are blind to talk to the kids about their work experience (they work for the club). The kids loved hearing these young adults talk about their ability to work and do things they hadn't thought possible. Here is a photo of one of the camp participants getting a surprise birthday cake...he was THRILLED!
After lunch:
The kids went swimming in the clubhouse pool (of course)! They had a great time. Some of them dont get a chance to swim at all and they were having a ball! There were four lifeguards on duty just in case. I only snapped this photo since people do like to be photographed in their swimsuites :)
Afternoon:
While the kids finished swimming, I headed back to the office. I spent about an hour catching my boss up on the days festivities, checking emails, voicemails, arranging for a media appearance we have on Fox 19 on Tuesday morning, etc. etc. etc.
Late afternoon:
Alison and I had "coaching". She has been working for me for about 6 months and every other week she and I set a couple of hours aside to catch each other up on projects, issues, kudos, etc. We tried to go to a coffee shop but it was closed so we ended up at Molly Malones...nothing like coaching at a BAR! Ha! No drinking was involved though (well...just Pepsi). Afterwards I dropped a grant off to a foundation located a few miles away.
Evening:
I had some time to kill before my spa appointment so I went to Old Navy and bought some new short...I've grown out of my old ones. SIGH.
On to my "spa" appointment. I had a bikini wax and I will NEVER do it again. It was awful. Terrible. A nightmare. I have bruising and red dots/broken blood vessels all over...looks like I won't be taking off my shorts this weekend to expose my bathing suit bottoms! If I could show you a picture I would...just to discourage all of you from doing it!
After the awful appointment:
I went home did laundry, hung up clean laundry (from Maui), HA, did dishes (the kind that sit in the sink for a week because they can't go in the dishwasher), gave myself a pedicure, entertained all FOUR dogs, caught up on the Casey Anthony trial, etc. etc. etc.!
Well...there was an unusual day in the life of ME! Hope you had a good day...minus the SPA appointment of course!
